Online Baroque violin lessons, where context is the method
"I played for years, then I stopped. Is it possible to start over again?"
Yes. Completely. Most of my students are exactly here.
“I keep hearing about HIP. Can I try it out with my current setup?”
Sure. Your curiosity is the only equipment you need to start.
"I'm a professional. I don't need basics – I need depth and insight."
That's exactly what these sessions are built for.
TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
"Structure is not the opposite of freedom – it is its precondition."
There is a version of violin playing where the instrument stops feeling like something you are managing. The phrase tells you where to breathe. The music feels like yours.
Historically informed performance is what gets you there – not as a specialism, but as a way of understanding the violin so thoroughly that the physical problems start solving themselves. Most serious adult violinists reach a point where more practice isn't the answer. What's missing is context.
Online lessons in this studio are built around that. Once you hear what the music is actually asking, the bow arm settles, the phrase finds its shape, and the violin stops being an obstacle.
It happens faster than you'd expect.

WHAT STUDENTS SAY
"Léna sent written preparation materials before our sessions and met me exactly where I was. The expressiveness of her own playing inspired me extraordinarily. I am convinced that through her knowledge of historically informed performance and her warm, empathetic nature, she can bring the art of violin playing – and the joy of music – to people of all ages and levels. I stopped only because of a shoulder injury, and I deeply regret it."
–Katrin, Retired violin teacher, Musikakademie Basel
"I learn an incredible amount in our practice sessions together. When I hear you play, it spurs me on and motivates me to keep going. The conversations with you are encouragement, stimulation, healing, and inspiration."
–Sophie, professional colleague
